Christmas in Costa Maya
Merry Christmas y’all! We woke up in Costa Maya, Mexico – a little beach town south of Cozumel. As per tradition, we were wearing a new set of Christmas pajamas! I was so excited when I found these – anchors and snowflakes! It couldn’t be more perfect! We had room service out on our balcony and drank in the view of the ocean and sunshine! I was officially in relaxation mode!
Since Costa Maya isn’t an island, and there would be more opportunities to get lost, we opted for a cab ride to a beach club the taxi driver recommended. Beach clubs are really just areas on the beach, typically in front of a restaurant where tourists can spend the day. We grabbed ourselves some lounge chairs and an umbrella and parked ourselves in front of the ocean for a few hours!
Branch and I are fully aware that we are beyond blessed and have more than enough. Our absolute favorite Christmas tradition is our special version of the “gift exchange”. We started the tradition 3 Christmases ago and no longer give each other actual Christmas presents; instead we write each other love letters :) We opened our notes to each other as the sun went down and the ship headed south to Honduras. It was an amazing Christmas Day.
